Who is in charge of this site?

The Emperor is in charge, of course.

On a practical level, Nae, Callista, and Sardonicus are in complete control of your planets now.

Who pays for this?

You may have noticed the suspicious lack of advertisements here, as compared to many other websites/messageboards. (This helps our pages load faster, which is nice.)

This board is paid for mostly by The Emperor, although we greatly appreciate the contributions of members like you to help defray expenses.

(If you do wish to contribute, please be aware that we can't let you disobey the TOS agreement because of your contribution. You will continue to be held to your original agreement.)

You can contact us here about contributing to our cause.

I've noticed that some of the moderators have "@StarWarsBoard.com" addresses. Can I get an address like that?

These addresses have been provided for the moderators to thank them for their effort in keeping the board running.

StarWarsBoard.com addresses are not available for all members.

How do I contact the "powers that be" at this site?

There are several ways to do this:

If you would like to make suggestions regarding how the board is set up, try Petitioning the Senate.

If you have a problem with something in one of the forums, email the moderator of that forum-- the identity of the moderator is listed at the top of each forum mainpage.

If you need a higher level of assistance, contact a Sith.

I want to be a moderator. How do I get to be a moderator? I want the opportunity to help.

For now, the best way that you can help is to support the current moderators and uphold the TOS.

If we need new moderators for some reason, they will be chosen based on their track record for fair, level-headed behavior on the messageboard (and because of expertise in the area in need of a moderator)-- not because they've been campaigning for it.

Keep in mind that being a moderator is not a bunch of glory-- it's hard work, and not much appreciation.

How do I find out who the moderators are?

Each forum mainpage (the page that lists the current topics) has the moderator(s) for that forum listed in the announcement box at the top of the topic list.

Additionally, the Choose Forum page lists all the moderators, by forum.

I think that the moderator is WAAAAY off-base in the way he/she handled something. Who can I complain to??

Start with the moderator! If you disagree with him/her, email and politely explain your view.

If that doesn't get you anywhere and you really feel that it's important enough that you can't just let it go, try emailing the Emperor about it.

What's the chain of command here?

The moderators have direct supervisory control over their respective forums.

There are three administrators currently at this messageboard. Nae, Callista, and Sardonicus. All three work together and have the authority to moderate any forum where they see trouble.

The Emperor, who is providing this playground for you, is the ultimate authority on everything here. The Emperor's word is law, whether you like it or not.

What decides if the moderators have the right to step in?

The moderator always has the right to take action. This board is privately owned. It's the moderator's job to step in and be better safe than sorry.

Check the Deleted/Locked/Moved and Policy sections of the FAQ for more information on things that make moderators take action.
